With the occurrence of mental illness on the rise in Australia, and suicide being the leading cause of death (up until the age of 45), our aim at Foundation Brave is to empower young people with the capacity to be able to ride the ups and downs, and face life’s challenges without the pain of isolation, helplessness and despair.
Our team delivers emotionally engaging workshops for both primary school & high school aged students providing young people with the tools to better support themselves and each other.
Foundation Brave was founded in Newcastle by Emma Davies. It was Emma's real-life experience with mental torment that inspires the message at the core of Foundation Brave, a message that is simple in theory yet much more difficult in practice:
It takes courage to be able to focus on what is 'right' about you, to know your true value, and to be your whole self.
It takes bravery to become resilient, to be willing to stumble or fail but to get back up again because your mistakes do not define your value.
